General Conference (4/8/19)

General Conference is high key better than Christmas on the mission. We had a count down and everything and all elders were getting super hyped throughout the week. And to top things all off we were even able to watch it live!

Elder and Sister Kunz, the couple missionaries in Kenema all had us over to their apartment to watch conference Saturday and Sunday. Conference sessions were at 4pm and 8pm here. So we watched every session except for the Priesthood session, because it was 12am. But it is currently downloading so I can listen to it later!

Honestly Conference so so sweet too. To be able to hear the words of God's prophets is dope! I took away so much on what I can do to become a better missionary and a better person when I get home.

Honestly this week was sweet because conference but other than that just walking around and teaching the same old same old.

I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true! It warms my heart knowing that Jesus Christ knows me personally and has atoned for my sins. This Easter season, I know that He lives and loves each and every one of us!

Another Week (4/1/19)

This past week was good!

Just another day in paradise. It actually started to rain and we are down with March, which is the hottest month, so we are on our ways to the rainy season. We had a few good rains this week which was refreshing.

This week I started by going on exchange with Elder Bledsoe, him and I came at the exact same day to the mission so it was pretty cool to work with him, because it had been a long time since we had worked together.

The rest of the week went swimmingly and Saturday we even had a baptism Saturday. You will have to hold off on pictures of those because the person who took picture sucks. So I am trying to get them off a members phone. But the service was very nice, we baptized a 17 year old girl named Mariama. Her uncle is in the district high council so it was a nice service. After we went to the Kenema Central Branch baptism, which was also super nice, and then the best part started, we went and proselyted.

Don't get me wrong everyday proselyting is super fun but Saturday was legendary. Our first appointment was with a guy we contacted, it was super cool and all but he gave us tons of snacks, even roasted cassava root (picture below). That was super cool then walking to our next appointment we passed another investigators house who called us over and were feed boiled cassava root with noodles and rice bread. That was also super nice, then walking to our next appointment we passed a members who fed us cassava leaf and rich cake, which is basically pound cake. I really enjoyed! my companion not so much, I ended up eating most of his but its cools because I enjoyed. Also in between eating a played around with tons of kids. Pictures below.

This week has been super fun and we are working really hard in Kpayama and it is an awesome place to be. I love this Gospel and can't wait for General Conference this weekend to hear the words of the Prophet!

Love you all!

Go 'Ners (3/25/19)

Go Mariners, on our way to 162-0. Just saying.

The internet sucked today so I don't have a bunch of time.

This week we balled out. On Tuesday Elder Roche and I went on exchange and we straight hooped. Hes from Kaysville Utah and it was super fun to hang out for a day. And we are the same age so we could straight ball together. And we taught some bomb lessons and brought the Spirit heavy.

Wednesday was Zone Conference and it was awesome. President Clawson talked a lot about teaching with the Spirit. I learned lots and how to apply it.

After I ended up just cutting hair for elders all day and we smoked chicken and just chilled all night at the other elders apartment. Elder Hadlock is from northern Utah too and he is also my age and is one transfer ahead of me so we just talk sports so that is super nice.

In other news everything is going great, I became the branch organist again in this branch lol and we have our first baptism here next week.

Sorry for the short email but everyone should know that I am not just surviving here but we are enjoying.
